How many times have you told yourself you could write a book about your life? How many times has someone else told you that you could write a book about your life? And your reaction each time was…?

The guest on the Self-Publishing School podcast today was Lianne Saffer, the author of Please, Don’t Send Me Flowers. About a year ago, she decided to say yes and write that book. If you are thinking about writing your story at any point in the future, I suggest you earmark this podcast so you can easily find it and refer back to it.

Ok, enough commercial!! Chandler Bolt was talking to Lianne about her book Please Don’t Send Me Flowers and why she wrote it. This was such a relaxed conversation. Lianne told Chandler she wrote the book because she had started posting about her life on Instagram and then, just as a lark, took a poll asking her followers if she should write a book. Overwhelmingly, the response was yes. (I had to pause the podcast when Lianne commented about the 2 people who said no — started laughing because her response was exactly what I would have said). Then she started writing everything down and worked her way backward.
